It’s October 1st, which means it’s the first day of breast cancer awareness month. It also means that you’ll be hearing my voice just a little bit louder not just as a young survivor but as someone who wants to help you while your friends and family are diagnosed. @Meghan Trainor and I met because her husband and my brother are good friends. But we have since connected over so much more: babies, struggles, and just friendship. Meghan is truly a person who is one of a kind. She’s thoughtful, kind, HILARIOUS, and also one of the most talented people I’ve ever met. She is fiercely loyal to her friends and family and I am forever grateful we have crossed paths. The @Wicked Movie was absolutely phenomenal. While @Leanne has seen it on stage, I have never seen it beyond a few little clips I could find online. I never had context of the songs and now that I do, they have broken me. I cried long and hard after the movie was over because I know millions of people are going to watch this movie and walk out not seeing the similarities of what is happening in our country right now. Of needing someone to hate. This movie is a cry for help. Please stop villainizing people for things they cannot control. Please stop hating people because they are different. They’re scary to you just because you don’t understand them. It’s not my lesson to learn but I genuinely hope it opens some eyes to take on a different view point.
