The Member of Parliament for Assin South and Ranking Member of the Defence and Interior Committee of Parliament, Reverend John Ntim Fordjour, has spoken out for the first time after the National Investigations Bureau (NIB) attempted to arrest him at his residence on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. Speaking after a press conference led by Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, Rev Ntim Fordjour remained defiant. “The truth shall stand,” he told the media. The Ashanti Central Regional Police Commander, DCoP Emmanuel Teye-Cudjoe, announced this in Kumasi at at media briefing. The Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi has been in the news in recent days for the wrong reasons following what appeared to be a serial violent attacks on Mobile Money commonly known as MoMo vendors. Though there have been several of such attacks, this led to the instant killing of two vendors in what appeared to be armed robbery attacks by a suspected syndicate. The first such suspected robberies occurred on Thursday February 13, this year at Krofrom around midday. In that incident, the robbers allegedly attacked one Patricia Nimako in her MoMo vending post, shot her to death and ran away with an undisclosed sum of money. On the 10th of this month, another MoMo vender, Gideon Owusu Sarpong affectionately called Junior, was allegedly tracked to his residence at Kwadaso near Kumasi where he was also robbed of an undisclosed sum of money linked to his MoMo business and killed by the assailants. The Police, in an effort to nib the situation in the bud to provide a safe atmosphere for residents to go about their lawful routine activities, tracked down the assailants and have since arrested three of the suspects in connection with the crime. At a media briefing in Kumasi, the Ashanti Central Regional Police Commander, DCoP Emmanuel Teye-Cudjoe, disclosed that the suspects are currently in Police custody helping with investigation pending their arraignment in court for justice to prevail. “The arrested suspects have been identified as Charles Kwame Danso, 23, also known as ‘Kwame Charles’ or ‘Miami’, Philip Fordjuor, 29, and Samuel Addae Mensah, 42. They were arrested on 21st March, 2025 at Pankrono and Atimatim respectively”, the Commander disclosed. DCoP Teye-Cudjoe also said that a fourth suspect in connection with the crime is now on the run and is therefore appealing to members of the public to help track him down to face justice. “Efforts are underway to locate the fourth suspect in the person of Martin Amoah aka Augustine Amoah alias ‘Banq Macho’ who is believed to be hiding in Kumasi, Dunkwq, Diaso near Dunkwq On-Offin in the Central region”, DCoP Teye-Cudjoe announced. The Regional Police Commander has assured residents of the region that, the Police command is working hard to ensure adequate safety and security and has therefore for calm and support for the security agency. #amazingboyofficial

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has officially announced that the government of Burkina Faso has upheld its ban on exporting key agricultural commodities, including rice, millet, maize, sorghum, and white beans (cowpea). The restriction, first outlined in a joint communique dated December 19, 2023, prohibits the export of these goods beyond Burkina Faso’s borders. A follow-up communique issued on November 13, 2024, reaffirmed that the ban remains in place, urging traders and buyers to comply with the directive. In response, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has called on Ghanaian traders and businesses involved in importing these food items from Burkina Faso to adhere to the restrictions. “We strongly advise all traders and businesses to adhere to this directive. The government of Burkina Faso has made it clear that this ban will continue, and failure to comply could result in serious consequences for those involved in the trade of these commodities,” the Ministry warned in a statement. All stakeholders in the affected sectors have been advised to adjust their business operations and seek alternative sources for these commodities. #amazingboyofficial

The renowned broadcaster suffered a life-threatening injury after being shot in the face while covering the Kwafie Festival in Dormaa Ahenkro in December 2024. In a video, Kofi Adoma, CEO of Kofi TV, was seen with one eye covered by a bandage as he described the excruciating pain he has been enduring, including bleeding whenever he sneezes. Visibly emotional, the journalist recounted how he was determined to support the festival despite the shooting. However, he expressed disappointment over what he perceives as neglect from Dormaahene, even though he expected nothing from him. Kofi Adoma also revealed his disappointment with the Chief Executive Officer of Angel Broadcasting Network, alleging that the CEO Vincent Opare, said he cares about the company more than his life. In a video shared online by blogger ZionFelix, a visibly distressed Kofi Adoma said: “I want to say everything about my incident before whatever will happen to me happens. People are saying it was just powder. When I heard that, I was surprised. I never expected my own Dormaa people to do this to me. “I will never wish my situation even on my worst enemy. Those talking anyhow about my condition should hasten slowly because anything can happen to anyone at any time. “I was shocked at what Angel CEO Vincent said about my condition.
