The foundation for the world’s most famous doghouse is officially underway. I triple-checked and cleaned up all the wiring to make sure everything is perfect before the real transformation begins…when it actually starts looking like a doghouse. Teddy’s been keeping a close eye on the progress (tough boss), but we’re moving along! Part 3 is where it gets really fun… A working chimney? Maybe. 👀 Stay tuned, you won’t want to miss what’s coming next!
When I first built this doghouse, my dad was supposed to teach me everything about home improvement—but he passed away from cancer before we could get started. I did the best I could at the time, but let’s just say… a few things weren’t exactly up to code. Now, it’s time to do it right. We’re rebuilding it better than ever, with epic upgrades like a Lambchop dispenser, a pull-out bed for the other pups, a fully upgraded interior, and much more. Follow along as we turn this memory into something incredible. 🛠🐾
#ad Bailey has been at the Greenville Humane Society since March; one of their longest residents. So we gave Teddy the day off and took our new @Subaru of America, Inc. Forester Hybrid to go give her the best day ever. Bailey soaked in every moment. And thanks to our Subaru's smooth ride, quiet cabin, and hands-free liftgate, it was an effortless day of love, fun, and a whole lot of tail wags. Subaru's commitment to helping shelter dogs like Bailey find homes makes this partnership extra special. You can find her at @Greenville Humane Society #ShelterDogSaturday #sponsored #SubaruLovesPets
Doghouse build, part 3! This round, we wired up Teddy’s Ring doorbell cam, prepped the outdoor lights, and added the stone to the house. It was a long, detailed process… but now the real fun begins. In part 4, we’re adding a chimney that actually smokes, installing Teddy’s doorbell and outdoor lights, and finishing it all off with some final touches..including the big reveal of his new doormat. You’re not gonna want to miss this one! #doghouse #aguyandagolden
Time really does fly. One day he fit in my hand, and now I’m noticing the grey whiskers on his face. They say you only get one soul dog in a lifetime, and I still can’t believe I’m lucky enough to have mine by my side. Teddy’s been there through everything. Losing my dad, the quiet lonely seasons, the moments I didn’t think I’d get through. And he’s been there for the best too…getting married, building something we never dreamed possible together. I get emotional thinking about what we’ve created. Somewhere out there, someone will come across a video of him and laugh when they need it most, until the end of time. The dog who helped me through my hardest days might help them through theirs too. You’ve changed my life, Teddy. And somehow, you’ve changed the world a little too. You’re THAT dog, love you buddy.
It’s been a stressful few weeks. Waiting to hear possibly some of the worst news of your life is such a helpless, exhausting feeling. For a week and a half, we didn’t know if the mass on Teddy’s spleen was a serious cancer or something less urgent to monitor. Getting the call that the biopsy showed no evidence of cancer was a huge relief, but we’re not totally out of the woods yet. Now we have to decide the best way to treat the mass, and we’ve been reaching out to every doctor who will take our call to make sure we get it right. For now, Teddy is safe, resting, still his goofy self, and ready for whatever comes next. He has no stress at all, and man am I jealous. Me? I’m hopeful, praying for the best, and ready to do whatever it takes for my buddy. I’ll be starting a fun little doghouse renovation series soon to give Teddy a break and bring some joy back into the feed. And then things will start feeling normal again soon once we have dealt with this situation. Thank you all so much for your support, it means more than you know. We’ve got this!
After Teddys health scare, I promised myself I’d slow down and soak up more of life with him…quiet mornings, spontaneous adventures, and moments that matter. We set out early hoping to catch the sunrise, and even though the clouds had other plans, the time together made it unforgettable. We’ll catch that sunrise one day…but for now, this memory is more than enough. #dogsoftiktok #souldog #aguyandagolden
#ad Teddy’s still recovering, so we gave him the day off and took our new 2025 @Subaru of America, Inc. Forester Hybrid to the Greenville Humane Society to give two overlooked pups a much-needed adventure. That’s where we met Dash and Dean…two buddies who’ve been waiting months for a home. From a quiet cabin ride to pup approved chicken, toy shopping, custom gear, and cool treats on a hot day, these boys soaked up every moment. Subaru’s advanced EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology and all wheel drive made the journey safe and smooth, even with our car full of excited doggies. Subaru’s commitment to shelter dogs like Dash and Dean is why we love this partnership so much. You can find these boys now at @Greenville Humane Society #SubaruLovesPets #ShelterDogSaturday #sponsored
Teddy had a really good night. Hard to believe it’s just day 3 after major surgery, he’s already starting to act like his old self. I probably woke him up more than necessary just to check on him but I’d rather be overly cautious than miss something. He’s doing great. At one point I quietly opened the fridge for a drink (he was sound asleep in his recovery spot). I turned around and he was wide awake, staring me down like a hawk just making sure I wasn’t sneaking cheese without him. 😂
