I’ve been getting asked a lot about what I do and how I got to where I’m at ever since graduating college. Right now I work at an LNG company as an analyst. My role is more project finance-focused than cash management, so I spend a lot of time working in models and analyzing different projects we’re working on. But what people don’t know is that getting here wasn’t a straight path at all. I started college as an engineering major because I found passion in solving difficult things, but quickly realized it wasn’t for me. I switched to financial management my sophomore year and graduated with that degree but I was still unsure of what I actually wanted to do with my career. I didn’t have a job lined up after college and ended up working in new home sales for about 10 months before realizing I still wasn’t fulfilled. I wanted to actually exercise my degree so I pivoted into consulting at an accounting firm. The job was pretty solid but I still felt unsettled. Long story short, my friend at Bible study told me about an open role at his company. After a few interviews he was able to help me get the job, and now I get to work in a field I enjoy and continue to grow in. Moral of the story: it’s okay to feel lost. Your path doesn’t have to look perfect or linear. Just keep showing up, stay open to new opportunities, and trust that your time is coming. Here’s a good takeaway scripture that has always stuck with me and hopefully it does with you as well: There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” — Ecclesiastes 3:1 #finance #9to5 #marriedlife #financebro #houston
This is my 100th post and as of right now, I have 260k followers on TikTok and 30k on Instagram, but 4 months ago most of those people didn’t know I existed. I started posting consistently and started caring less about what people thought another me. But here’s the honest truth about what helped me grow: What worked: • I posted even when no one cared • I paid attention to what actually performed and leaned into it • I made content I enjoyed watching and not just what I thought I “should” post • most importantly I didn’t try to perfect every video, I just hit post and moved on with my day What didn’t matter: • Fancy gear • Going viral • Having a perfect post/niche What mattered most was consistency, clarity, and not quitting when things felt slow. If you’re just getting started, you don’t need a the perfect lifestyle or a perfect video. You just need to start and stop waiting for things to be perfect. Even though editing videos after work can be exhausting sometimes, I promise it will all be worth it in the end. I’m so excited to see where this all goes so let’s keep going 🤝 #lifeofacreator #consistancy #houston #financebro #marriedlife #motivation
