**ETA: I was so flustered and excited about the news, that I misspoke— it sounds like they’re adapting The Book of Magic, not The Rules of Magic Is it too much to hope they’ll build the actual house this time, and it will be more than just a facade? 🫣 A girl can dream, right? #practicalmagic #practicalmagic2
It will be interesting to see how it layers with different colors, but I’m so in love with it already. I still need to use up the other purple, but I don’t think anyone would mind if I used some of the new purple on the restock I’m hoping to have in early April 😉 What do we think of the new purple??? #pottery #ceramics #potteryglaze
Making these mugs is an enormous privilege for me. I was so excited to get back to making them, only to immediately feel overwhelmed by clay that wasn’t performing to my standards, and was just making it harder for me to make work I feel good sending out. I’ve been so worried about disappointing people by making anything other than Practical Magic inspired mugs that it created this sort of creative paralysis in me. But the last few months have given me time to start healing after loss, and I’m learning to consider my own feelings as I get back to my work. In this case, I need this clay to be gone for me to feel good about making my next big batch of Practical Magic mugs. I am thinking though that I might make a lot of these non-mug pieces available in my shop prior to the restock, so that it alleviates a bit of the pressure people feel at restock time. I’ll let everyone know here when they’re up, and when I start in on the first official PM restock of the year. #pottery #practicalmagic #practicalmagicmugs
I love a project that helps me reduce waste! This is a little bit more of an advanced option, but one that I’m excited to get back into making. I think I’ll make these available in color coordinated sets of 4 in my next restock, when I have a good amount of them built up. So that begs the question— what color set could you picture in your home? #pottery #upcycling #ceramics
This was a comment I got on my video about the clay with performance issues that I’m trying to use up. I think there are very few cases in which clay is a lost cause, and should be thrown out. Frankly, I think there’s a wastefulness problem in ceramics we don’t talk about enough. I think as we see mines close, and prices increase, people are going to need to reconsider their attitudes towards minor inconveniences with their materials. Not only for scarcity’s sake, but to minimize our environmental impact. Pottery isn’t the most environmentally friendly art form, so it’s up to us to be responsible makers. So if you have some materials that aren’t suiting you, maybe ask around to see if any area artists want to take them off your hands. It’s a whole lot better than having the materials go to waste. #earthday #pottery #ceramics
Excellent news for Practical Magic fans! I will for sure be in the theater on opening day! In the meantime… I’m embarking on a mug making bonanza for the next year and a half. As for sharing a date of my own, I don’t yet have a set date for a restock. I was a little slow to getting back into production after my mom passed in December, and after we had her celebration of life in late February. But I’ve been quietly making new work since mid March, and setting it aside for a restock. I am glazing two styles right now, and when they’re finished, I’ll make more of the other three in my line. I just wanted to have a bit of everything when I did my first official restock of the year, and I also didn’t want to rush things after I came back to work. I’ll happily share my progress on these if you all would like to stay in the know until I send out an email update. #pottery #practicalmagic #practicalmagicmugs
Replying to @Pottery by Danielle Having a piece of my pottery in Practical Magic 2 on a shelf somewhere, or even used by a character, would be an absolute dream. @Warner Bros. I would love to provide some pottery for set design in the film.🕯️🌙 #practicalmagic #practicalmagic2
