Today, 3 years ago “Me On You” came out. In the weird world where a 10 second video can change your career, we are so grateful for what this song as done for us over the last few years. It came at a pivotal time for us. When this song came out, we had been a band for 7 years and for the first time in our career it felt like we had finally find our “thing” and for a couple of weeks it was literally the biggest song in the world. Only saying that for 2 reasons: 1. For all aspiring artist, finding your identity can take time so, don’t get discouraged if it takes awhile to figure it out, just keep being authentic, block out the outside noise and keep going. 2. You can have success as an independent artist. If you’re willing to make the time investment and be willing to do all the “un-sexy” things that come with it, you’ll look up 10 years later enjoying what you’re doing, on your terms. It’s crazy to think it still feels like we are just getting started and we think that’s what keeps us so motivated to strive to create better music and versions of ourselves. The only goal now is to have fun for as long as the good lord lets us do this and create a blueprint for the next crop of independent artist to experience the joy of doing things how you want and owning it.
