My father-in-law is a pundit and he has taught us to do things in the simplest form. As long as you are clean, devoted and make your offerings with love it will be always be accepted by God. Puri 2 cups cake flour 2 tablespoons butter ghee 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 cup warm milk (you may not use all of it) Rub the butter ghee into the flour/baking powder. Add milk, little at a time to form a soft dough. Knead for about 5 minutes. Divide into 24 balls and roll out into circles (about 9cm in diameter) Fry in hot oil, only a few seconds per side (it should puff up) and drain on paper towels Baking powder is what helps absorb the oil Halwa 3/4 cup cake flour 1/3 cup granulated sugar 1&1/2 cup milk 1/2 tsp elachie powder 1/3 cup condensed milk 1/2 cup butter ghee Mix all the ingredients except the butter ghee, using a whisk Melt the butter ghee, in a pan,on the stovetop Strain the flour mixture into the pan and cook on a low heat mixing continuously. The condensed milk can easily burn so do not leave it unattended. Mix until the halwa is thick and pulls away from the sides of the pan If there is excess ghee floating on top you can remove it
This is a very easy recipe if you follow the recipe as it should be. I added Klim to my previous recipe but i ommited it this time to keep it as simple as possible.
