it’s eating disorder awareness week. 🍽️❤️🩹 a reminder that: • you don’t have to be underweight to be suffering with an ED • not all EDs are restrictive • it’s actually very uncommon to be hospitalised for an ED, despite what social media portrays • recovery is POSSIBLE. • there is so much work that needs to be done to ensure all people have equal access to treatment, because EDs don’t only exist in thin, wealthy, straight white women, and are often overlooked in those who do not match the ‘stereotype’. there is hope. recovery is achievable. you deserve help and you deserve a life away from an eating disorder 🫂🐛🦋🌟

i understand the fear that comes with letting go of control. but i can promise you this: food freedom is not something to fear. 💭 @The Comfort Zone being free with food ≠ a loss of control. you’re not really in control if your obsession with food controls you. sharing this snippet from our recent episode because i feel like Ro of 2021 needed to hear this so badly. and this isn’t to further instil fear around weight gain, because for so many weight gain is hugely necessary and not something to fear, but it’s just to tell you that your worries around cravings and intense hunger signals never going away are an ED fear. trust your body, and it will trust you back 🫂💕🌟
