Another myth: Police can't give tickets outside their jurisdiction. They absolutely can and do! Same with highway patrol, they can give tickets in the city and vice versa. I've done it, and I know officers who have done the same. On a side note, I also arrested a person for robbery while off-duty in a whole other municipality.
